Seaside Shoot

Shooting on the Sussex coast last weekend didn't feel like work at all - can't wait to see the final pictures

Mona

Many eyes on me as I work from home this afternoon - the best pair looking out from my Mona Lisa socks, a gift from a friend last year.

Managed to catch Polke's exhibition at the Tate Modern just before it closes on the 8th February.
Worth a visit if you get the chance between now and then!

Cat Lady

It was my birthday recently and I was lucky enough to get some wonderful presents - one of which was a multi pack of socks, with this kitten printed pair as its crowning glory

I didn't wear my jeans pushed up like this all day but I was tempted.

Wardrobe Raider

I am going through quite a bad phase of borrowing clothes... I have my own groaning clothes rails at home and have no shortage of things to wear, but some days all you want is something to shake up the normal run of things. Plus I have two wonderful wardrobes on tap at home so I am going to say it would be pretty hard not to be tempted.
Yesterday I wore a beautiful vintage dress of my Mum's which has a great print

Today I am wearing a jumper AND shirt of Tessa's... she busted me wearing them as she left for work this morning, so this blog post won't come as too much as a shock to her
(Sorry, couldn't resist)
But I'm also wearing a suede jacket of my Aunt's - she has actually given it to me though - which makes me look like a cowgirl. Always a great look.
These socks of Tessa's might be my fave loan so far though.
I've really got to stop all this poaching before something irremovable gets spilt on an irreplaceable garment.

Rainbow Dresses

I've always thought Hervé Léger dresses look slightly like extra skin tight bandages... in a good way? These rainbow numbers from 1995 are kinda great though.
A friend of mine went to a private view at The Tate recently, which she said she enjoyed but wished she'd worn black... I can relate to that entirely, but at heart I think we will both always love a bit of rainbow

Roger Fenton

Last week I learned that David Bailey's son is called Fenton, in homage to the British photographer.

Roger Fenton is probably best known for his photographs of the Crimean War of 1855, of which there are said to be over 350. It was the first time that the British public were kept a brief of battles on foreign terrain and Fenton's photographs depict stoic soldiers and tidy camps, in an attempt to buffer negative response to the war.
After looking at these photos I now want to go camping and wear kilts and plaid knee high socks. Coincidentally, you can buy your very own stylish kilt here, should you want to pretend you were in the Crimean War too.

Jungle Fever

Walking to meet Tessa before Friday's art expedition with Rosa, I spotted her trousers before her beaming face. I then looked down and realised we were both wearing animal print trousers and spotty spotty socks. Jungle fever.
Tessa has a vast selections of socks. Here are her trusty DMs fashioned with a lovely green pair on a much warmer day last summer.

Socks

I am putting the right foot forward into the new year with these Tabio socks from Hermione, given as a birthday present back in December.

Tuesday

Yesterday's highlights also included: Tessa's socks/Docs and tie dye dress combination
A man carrying a dog on the central line that looked like this arctic fox. And finally, my walk to Holborn station meant an encounter with the GQ Man of the Year Awards, and a sighting of Bradley Cooper (I did have to ask someone who he was, but still)

A Gift From Preston

Some friends went to Preston Flea Market at the break of dawn one day this week. Amongst the treasure was this Claddagh earring (only one) that Hannah picked from a tray of trinkets and gave to me. Its made my week. (Maybe month). Hannah also bought 3 pairs of socks for a pound - the Louis Vuitton ones are amazing.

Carnival

Tessa's off to Carnival! I love this so much. Bug glasses and socks and see-through dress. No point in giving the floats a run for their money

Pleasure in Small Things

These make me so happy when glimpse them with my slightly too short (not in a fashionable way, they've shrunk) trousers. Courtesy of an Istanbul sock stand outside a mosque.
