Gingham

One of my favourite fabrics, Gingham feels distinctly British, and reminds me of picnics, school uniforms and cream tea idylls. I wish I had proper gingham clothes, instead I have only variations on the theme - checks of many descriptions, like my trousers, shirt and two dresses (given/lent by Daisy) here. While flicking through a magazine today I saw this Chanel sunglasses advert and thought of a Primark buy I made a few years ago. I've never been sure what this black and white chequered chiffon number is supposed to be worn as (shorts? pj's? underwear? beachwear?!) but I love them all the same.

Specs

While at Daisy's flat today I found it incredibly hard not to unpack/steal her belongings which have only just made it back from Manchester to London, in big bags, and very temptingly scattered in corners of the flat. I had to restrain from slipping these two pairs of sunglasses from Preston flea market in my pocket. Also very envious of Daisy's homemade Alice in Wonderland painting overalls.

On the way to buy breakfast, Daisy bought this dress. It looks like a picnic blanket, but in the best way possible. And there was a bit left for living room decoration.
