Under the Bridge

A beautiful evening for a stroll across London Bridge and to The Bridge Theatre where a friend had invited me to see Barney Norris' new play, 'NightFall'. Lula had warned me of.... unfavourable.... reviews, so I made sure not to read any before watching the production. By the interval Lula and I had experienced both borderline hysterics and a small sob... we were loving it! The newly built theatre is beautiful too.

Trills Champions

I loved working with the brilliant Trills recently, styling for their prime time TV appearance - closing the Champions League Final earlier this month. Here they are sparkling away in their metallics

THERE'S A MONSTER IN THE LAKE

Last night Catherine and I went to the first ever reading of Tallulah Brown's new play, 'There's a Monster in the Lake' at The Calder Bookshop Theatre. The play tells the story of an old man and his daughters, who live in a world spliced with fantasy. It was brilliant and I'm so proud of Tallulah. Can't wait to hear more from her - I will be the first to tell you the next time she hits the big time!

Rainbow Dresses

I've always thought Hervé Léger dresses look slightly like extra skin tight bandages... in a good way? These rainbow numbers from 1995 are kinda great though.
A friend of mine went to a private view at The Tate recently, which she said she enjoyed but wished she'd worn black... I can relate to that entirely, but at heart I think we will both always love a bit of rainbow

Pickle Fork Ring

Lula was wearing a great ring recently, which she explained to me was a pickle fork.... Apparently during the Victorian period these little forks were often wrapped into wedding rings when normal bands couldn't be afforded.

Tallulah on an Island

Our first ever Style Profile which have since proved so popular, featured the lovely Tallulah Brown.

Lula has a way with words, describing her style as ' bit wacko - sass-pot granny meets fairy princess meets Russian peasant'. In other words, she was the perfect girl to start One Off's running features about individual and unique style.
Recently Tallulah sang a beautiful rendition of Van Morrison's 'Into The Mystic', on Desert Island Discs. The song was chosen by Castaway and (Lula's dad) Craig Brown.
I've listened to it about 100 times, you can too here:
For those that can't wait to hear our One Off songbird, skip to 35 minutes in.

Tallulah Brown

For those that haven't seen it already, last week One Off featured Tallulah Brown, a friend and fan of One Off as well as an all round stylish and inspirational lady. The feature was really made by Lily's photos, which along with all the looks in our Outfit Gallery, are shot on film. See Tallulah's feature here, and stay tuned for the next style profile!

Prints II

I love a good print. Here is Lula's cowboy/girl shirt and silk shorts printed with postage stamps I saw a couple of weeks ago in town. I want both.
