Fabric Samples For Quilts

An afternoon spent sorting out fabric samples, after collecting several bags full from a friend who was throwing them out of her studio recently. So excited to get sewing my next quilt!

Glittery Jacket

I love being bought clothes as I spend a lot of time thinking about outfits for other people, and this week Tessa outdid herself in the surprise gift stakes. I have long envied a little red glittery jacket she's had for years.
I knew something exciting was afoot from the speed in which Tessa came running up the stairs to my room....with this in hand!
A silver version of my own, found in a second hand shop in Notting Hill. I am over the moon! Now we can be matching... Wouldn't be the first time.

DIY Jewellery Box

I had a home focused Sunday yesterday, which involved me trying to cull the piles of crap in my room and organise all the great stuff. Along the way I discovered this little box, which  once contained a charm from Roy Doble jewellers in Camborne, Cornwall but is now where I am keeping (some) of my rings. I think Mum made this glitter lined one, but there was definitely a stage when I was younger where I reinvented many a match box after watching a particularly good episode of Art Attack.

MADE IN INDIA

Yesterday while I was on the look out for presents for other people... I managed to find myself this bit of sparkly hot pink chiffon, picked from a cardboard box full of scrap fabric in the market. I really love it, although not sure what I'm going to use it for.

Light it Up

Unintentionally, but very happily I am slowly building up an embellished matchbox collection. Can't wait for the next addition to the pack.

Frost Bite

Despite the fact that I am one of those unfortunate people whose hands turn varying shades of red/blue/purple in the cold, I still love to draw attention to them it seems. I wriggled into Hannah's room and stole this clear glitter nail polish when I got home from Uni. Excited for all the different colour and glitter combinations to come.
