Feeling gutted the beads are loosening on my smiley face bag...

Namesake

When you're 16 and literally can't think of ANYTHING cooler than making a pair of jeans in to a mini skirt and sewing your name in gold beads. A great archive find...

His n His

Bruce Weber and Clare Richardson, Holiday Magazine SS16
Matching father and son looks - reminds me of holidays in Spain as a child, and marvelling at smartly dressed and matching families.

Earl Grey

The most beautiful bouquet keeping me company on the bus home last night. I love how wild and natural it looks - I'm told this bunch is called 'Earl Grey'.

Tube Style II

Maybe I'll start a series of people on the tube?!
Loved the 90s style length and print of this skirt - and the thick satin ribbon used as laces

Elsie

Elsie 'Toodles' Thomas, c 1907-8
Alvin Langdon Coburn
I went to see the new Pre-Raphaeltite and Photography exhibition today, and while being pretty underwhelmed was struck by how modern some of the early color photography looked - this c.1907 photo could be straight out of a current fashion editorial.

London's Skyscrapers

Shooting amidst London's Skyscrapers last week for a SS16 campaign... This was shortly before it started snowing!

Bow shoes

Imagine my happiness this morning when at the National Gallery, I realised my latest shoe purchase would not look out of place on the foot of an early 19th Century landscape painter:
Louis-Auguste Schwiter, 1826-30
Eugene Delacroix

Press Days Continued

This week saw more wondering around London to lust over beautiful AW16 collections.
Highlights included:
Flashes of colour across Salvatore Ferragamo's bags and ankle boots
Missoni looking gorgeous as always and carrying through the zest of summer in to Autumn

Some Christopher Kane pink feather fringed gloves to brighten any winter coat
Loved this jumbo cord two piece from Sessun, very Annie Hall
And a pit stop in between showrooms- custard filled pastry fish (Taiyaki) hot off the griddle in China town. Almost too cute to eat!

All Tied Up

Finally spent some Russell & Bromley gift vouchers and bought these beautiful suede flats. I love the bows!

AW16 Press days

This week saw the first wave of AW16 Press days, which inevitably involved lots of walking, free snacks and tons of beautiful clothing. Oh, and a phone with no available storage to take pictures of most of it. Managed to snap a few...
Loved the shape and texture of Orla Kiely's new collection, nostalgic and unabashedly feminine
Gingham has always a favourite of mine - some sparkly printed Nicola Brindle capri trousers ticked a few boxes at the Dyelog showroom
So did some rolls of fabric wrapped in plastic on brick lane if I'm honest - I really do love gingham
What's not to love about this Caine London shirt? Gambling on your sleeve.
And I would love a bit of Cleo Peppiatt peppered through my wardrobe...
