Tie Dye

An afternoon spent at my friend Min's house a couple of weeks ago attempting to tie dye - with great results! We've got the bug - hopefully our friends and family like tie dye as I see all sorts handmade gifts coming their way...

Watermelon Frida

Sugared jelly fruit segments and a glitter encrusted Frida Kahlo matchbox. What finer souvenirs could there be? Courtesy of Hermione who recently got back from a holiday in Mexico. Both remind me of sunnier times, even as far flung as Summer 2011 on my beloved Uxbridge Road:

Wishful

On Tuesday I was in St Margaret's for Hermione's birthday, which included a massive fire outside (which was so hot I thought I could constantly smell my eyebrows singeing) and lots of paper lanterns.
This is a rubbish picture of a Frida Kahlo frame/picture resting against a huge moon-shaped candle. Daisy had just come back from Mexico and was laden down with Mexican gifts for Min. Couldn't help noticing that the evening was dominated by spherical shapes (fire place, candles, lanterns). Too much?
